During the United States Independence Day holiday, 14 people were killed in incidents and fires in Chicago in the state of Illinois. At least 101 people were injured in this incident. The incident took place on 4 July on the occasion of Independence Day on a four-day holiday.
More than half of the firing took place on the day of Independence Day on Tuesday, from 3:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Wednesday in South and West Chicago. Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at the press conference that we do not want to repeat such incident. One thousand additional security personnel were deployed to control the situation, he said.
